Nutrition Coach
Where are you from? My family moved from Pasadena, California to Arlee in 1992, and I’ve been here ever since!
What is your day job? I work in design for the Washington Companies - mostly web and print, but really all things design come across my desk.
What do you like to do for fun outside of CrossFit? Outside of CrossFit, most of my time is spent on my kids’ activities - baseball, piano, soccer, robotics, and theater… plus whatever our now 4-year-old decides to take an interest in! I also love to travel, cook (and eat, of course), and garden.
What makes a good nutrition coach? A good nutrition coach understands your goals, believes in your ability to succeed, and pushes you to work toward those goals while also meeting you where you’re at and helping build sustainable habits over time. I think many of us know what to do, but the day-to-day of getting it done is challenging with all the craziness in life. Having someone to help keep you accountable makes a big difference.
Why did you become a nutrition coach? Nutrition was a game-changer for me - not just in fitness, but in my overall quality of life. I’ve seen so many people want to do better, but with all the noise around diet and nutrition, it’s hard to know what to do (or not do). I love guiding clients as they figure out what works for them and start to see success. Watching clients reach their goals is one of the best feelings!
What is your favorite meal or go-to snack? One of my favorite meals is a lox bagel with all the goodies. I also add cucumbers, though I know they’re a divisive addition!
What is your favorite workout? Anything with heavy cleans or squats...maybe some dumbbells and double-unders. But please hold the toes-to-bar or wall balls!
What are your certifications? HSN Nutrition Coach, HSN Kids & Family Specialty Coach
